In Cuba there are some fast food places, some called Fast and others the DITU where you can eat something prepared quickly and at a good price.
On the one hand, we have the rapids where you can eat small pizzas and hamburgers heated in a microwave apart from drinking something, since they have tables and are usually indoors and on the other the DITU, which are usually like a beach bar with outdoor tables and where you can buy fried. This is where I tried for the first time the Cuban croquettes, which, without being an exquisite product, is cheap and from time to time it is good to snack on something.
Ingredients for 4 people
- 200 grams of chicken
- 30 milliliters of dry wine or 2 tablespoons soup
- 1 chive
- 2 butter spoons
- 3 tablespoons of flour
- 1 glass of milk
- Bread crumbs
- Salt
- Ground pepper
- Nutmeg
- Oil
To coat
- 100 grams of flour
- 100 grams of breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
Preparation
1- Sauté the onion and butter in a pan until transparent
2- Add the cooked and shredded chicken and cook for about 3 minutes
3- We add the wine and leave it for a couple of minutes cooking to let the alcohol go
4- We add the flour and mix well
5- While stirring, let’s pour the milk little by little
6- Add the salt, nutmeg, pepper and stir until the dough is removed from the pan, if we see that it is very liquid we add more flour
7- Put the dough on a plate and let it cool in the fridge
8- Once the dough is cold, we shape the croquettes with a spoon
9- Overcook the croquettes passing them through flour, egg and bread crumbs
