Spicy shrimps

Shrimp are what we know as prawns in Europe. They are rich in iodine, which helps us strengthen our hair, skin and nails.

Although it is not a Cuban dish, it is rather Mexican, this dish has been Cubanized taking away the spice that is not very to the liking of the Cubans.

It is a very popular dish in Cuba, do not forget to try it.

Processing Time: 45 minutes


  • 1 kl. Of shrimp
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 hot pepper
  • 1 parsley
  • 1 can of tomato sauce
  • 1 can of bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 cup dry wine
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper

Preparation mode

1-    Put the oil in a frying pan and add the cleaned shrimp letting them cook over medium heat until they brown

2-    The crushed garlic, the chopped onion and the ground pepper are added, mixing everything very well.

3-    After a while add the peppers, tomato sauce, parsley, vinegar, dry wine, salt, pepper and laurel.

4-    Cook over low heat for about 25 minutes.

5. It is served hot. You can accompany it with a white rice or some banana tostones.
